Lake Chelan     January 15-17, 2010 

During the Martin Luther King holiday weekend, the charming community of Lake Chelan is transformed into a winter paradise for its annual weekend-long event, Lake Chelan Winterfest: Fire & Ice.  Visitors will marvel at an outdoor gallery of ice sculptures created in front-of-the-public by talented Northwest sculptors. Beginning Friday afternoon through Saturday evening, teams of two sculptors will each create massive pieces of art out of 2,400 pound of ice.

A Winterfest tradition, visitors will enjoy sleigh rides through historic downtown Chelan, making their way to Chelan’s Don Morse Park, which will be turned into a winter playground with ice skating and other snow games.  After a day in the snow, visitors can head to the Ice Bar featuring music throughout the day or warm up with a bowl of homemade chili and hot drinks around the fire pit. The weekend festivities will conclude with the annual “Fire and Ice” themed torchlight parade and a fireworks show on Saturday.
